SwiftCurrent Connect offers the same level of service excellence that our cooperative members have expected since 1938. Fiber internet and voice is a type of broadband service that uses fiber optic cables to transmit data at high speeds (nearly the speed of light!). It’s a reliable, future ready solution that is designed to stay ahead of the technology curve.
Fiber internet can provide gigabit-speed connections, which allows you to download a full HD movie in seconds. We offer plans up to 2 Gig today and can reach 10 Gig speeds in the future.
Download speed measures how fast information can flow through the fiber network to you. Download speeds impact how long it takes to download large files, update games, or show pages with lots of photos. Download speed is measured in megabits per second (Mbps).
Upload speed measures how fast information can transfer from you. It affects things like how you appear on video calls, how fast you can upload files to the cloud, and how long it takes to add attachments to emails. Upload speed is measured in megabits per second (Mbps).

Fiber internet offers faster speeds, matching download (streaming TV) and upload (video calls) speeds for more reliable connections, and lower latency compared to traditional cable or DSL internet.
No, fiber is a hardline that’s run into the side of your home so clouds, snow, rain, wind do not affect your connection.
The ONT is where your fiber terminates in your home or business. ONT stands for optical network terminal. The ONT is typically a 6 x 6 x 2 square box where the fiber connects from the outside. Some customers may have a different ONT or it may be inside the wireless router.
If your internet connection doesn't seem to be working, we encourage you to try unplugging your equipment (both the ONT and Router) for two minutes. Once you cycle the power, check to see if you are connected.
Routers allow the internet service to be provided to you either through a hardwired or wireless connection inside your home or business. Routers provided by SwiftCurrent Connect are called Gigaspires. These units provide great coverage throughout your location. You can also use of one the ethernet ports on the router to create a hard wired connection.
Fiber is internet service delivered by optical light. As we all know, light travels faster than sound. In fact, fiber is capable of delivering speeds that are far superior to any other technology. Your SwiftCurrent service delivers fiber directly to your home without the fear of weather related service interruptions.
